HUATEC HEF-600 series are a new Eddy Current Flaw detector from our company, it is an instrument which has integrated four function as conventional eddy current, magnetic memory (optional), thickness gauge (optional), electrical conductivity measurement (optional), hardness sort (optional), users are able to choose the appropriate functions based on different needs, so it can effectively reduce the cost of detection; at the same time the instrument is equipped with powerful dual-core processors, embedded operating system, It uses the most advanced digital electronic technology ,magnetic memory testing techniques and microprocessor technology , it is able to detect the metal defects in metallic material and know the types of alloy and heat treatment conditions, the thickness change and so on . It has a menu shows all the settings and menu options, is a very practical, easy to operate multi-function portable eddy current testing equipment, but also to do the electrical conductivity measurement, non-metallic coating thickness.

 

Detection frequency range: 50 Hz-10 MHz, gain: 0-90.0 dB, phase: 0-359 degrees, including the setting of lift off phase, the selection of balance load in absolute and differential inspection, widely meet your detection needs. It is small in size and light in weight, and its packaging design meets the requirements of ergonomics. Built in high performance rechargeable lithium battery, the battery can work continuously for more than 12 hours. So it's ideal for field engineers, whether it's climbing stairs, squeezing into narrow entrances, or working at heights. Its large screen, high-resolution color LCD display can be clearly visible under any lighting conditions.

The instrument can realize "fool" operation. According to the required detection task, the process parameters such as frequency, gain and phase are preset by professionals. In the actual measurement, the corresponding test process parameters can be adjusted at any time. Operators can work without special training for a long time.

This portable instrument is available in aviation, aerospace, power and petrochemical for the In-service testing for the cooper, Titaniam, Aluminum, Zirconium and other measurements .It can restrain the interferential signs caused by the uneven of the workpiece materials, sediment, dirt and shaking to get a more better precision. Due to the full digital designs, so it is possible to set up a standard testing procedure in the instrument, for the users to take under the inspection.

3. Basic principle

Eddy current flaw detector is a nondestructive testing method based on the principle of electromagnetic induction, which is suitable for conductive materials. If a conductor is placed in an alternating magnetic field, there will be an induced current in the conductor, that is, eddy current. Due to the change of various factors (such as conductivity, permeability, shape, size and defect) of the conductor itself, the induced current will change. By using this phenomenon, the nature, state and defect of the conductor can be determined.

Eddy current flaw detector is to make the conductor close to the coil with alternating current, and the alternating magnetic field is established by the coil. The alternating magnetic field passes through the conductor and has electromagnetic induction with it to establish eddy current in the conductor. The eddy current in the conductor will also produce its own magnetic field. The effect of eddy current magnetic field will also change the strength of the original magnetic field, which will lead to the change of coil voltage and impedance. Therefore, the strength and distribution of eddy current will be affected when there are defects on or near the conductor surface or the measured metal material changes. The change of eddy current will cause changes in the voltage and impedance of the detection coil. According to this change, we can indirectly know the existence of defects in the conductor and whether the performance of metal materials has changed.
